A message from our Founder:
I set out in late 2023 with a new dream. After serving on the founding board of several nonprofits, I knew there was so much more that could be done. I had seen how hard work and bringing community together had created bountiful healing and real community changes. I knew that art heals. The new dream was to make this happen on a larger scale and with more direct opportunities for our community. In short, I wanted to bring about grant/publicly funded community art therapy.
In late 2024, this dream became possible. I changed my relationship with Hope Development Practice from provider and supervisor, to take on a new role leading an initiative inline with the dream. As the leader of one of Hope Development Practice's Queer Youth Initiatives, funded by the Pride Foundation's LGBTQ Youth Initiative grant, we are bringing about community art therapy.
Youth are gaining irreplaceable skills, opportunity, and experience. They are uplifted and empowered in giving voice to their experience through creative expression. Adult artists and art therapists are joining the effort to help teach the skills needed for making art, murals, and public art installations. Young Queer artists are encouraged to submit their art designs for consideration of installation. Community businesses, agencies, and land owners with public facing spaces are encouraged to submit their site for consideration of installation.

We are bringing vibrant, representational, informative, art by young artists to permanent publicly installed display. This effort is the first of many I am hoping to create by founding Let's Create Culture. We will start with public art installations and develop into a therapeutic community art center. This collaboration with Hope Development practice and the Pride Foundation, is just the start of what we hope becomes a movement in community healing.
